perFemme revisits a past love and the complicated feelings it brings in new single, “your Ring”

Date:

perFemme—an alternative rock/shoegaze band composed of five Gothenburg-based friends—reminisces on a love that once was by capturing the feeling of being haunted by everyday objects and reminders—like a ring—that instantly bring them back to the one they lost in their new single, “your Ring.”

Having only released one single before this, the band shapes a sound reminiscent of alternative artists like Catfish and The Bottlemen and The Smashing Pumpkins—blending vibrant, fuzzy guitars with smooth, freeing vocals, carried by a steady and captivating drum beat. Their choice to add an unexpected yet alluring instrumental interlude, shifting from soft to powerful, proves their willingness to experiment and push the boundaries of their sound. The perfect mix of vocals and instrumentation draws listeners in, immersing them in stories about heartbreak and complicated situations.

According to perFemme, something as small as finding a ring that belongs to a past love can send a flood of memories rushing back. The lyric, “I never meant to call you up, but I found your ring,” captures the bittersweet feeling of trying to reconnect with a chapter that’s already closed, holding onto the precious memories it contains.

perFemme is gearing up to release a series of singles leading up to their debut Ep, best Regards, later this spring.
