Tessa Dalton warns of superficial love in new song “Love, But Not Really”

Date:

Tessa Dalton is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville. She studies commercial fiddle at Belmont University, and challenges herself to write, record, and independently release a new song every month. Her latest release, “Love, But Not Really,” focuses on superficial relationships, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

“Love, But Not Really” is about craving a real connection with someone. Through soft piano and vulnerable lyrics, Tessa Dalton navigates the end of a one-sided relationship. The chorus sings, “It was love but not really / Touch with no feeling / Words with no meaning,” showing that the relationship could never reach its full potential because of its hollow gestures.
