Saint Lyra releases first single “dragonfruit”

Date:

Formerly known as Yardij, Saint Lyra has reinvented their brand with new single “dragonfruit,” released on Feb. 11. The single perfectly combines a possible new signature etherealism with alternative rock. Listeners first hear echoing synths that blend into electric guitar, hooking people as soon as they press play.

With a similar style to that of Paramore or even The 1975, Saint Lyra’s vocals are impressive enough, but especially paired with the rest of the track’s composition. Strong but silky, the group’s vocals match the intensity of the song but bring a vulnerable side to the single with effortless riffs and harmonies.

“dragonfruit” is the group’s first ever single to be released. The promising nature of this track should make fans hopeful that future projects will be just as heartfelt, if not more, than their new single.

The song itself is about a past lover returning, introducing the option to rekindle or to end things once and for all. This is a universal event that everyone can resonate with in one way or another, yet Saint Lyra transports listeners to their own world within this song.
