Carolina Drama Jumps on the Scene with “19.99”

Date:

What happens when two humans with an inclination for 2010’s inspired indie rock end up college roommates? Caroline Drama, that’s what. Austin Fredrich and Sam Allen invite us over with their debut release “$19.99.”

The indie/alternative rock duo has clear influences from Arctic Monkeys, The Raconteurs and Beck. Toss in a dash of blues and banjo, and there is the recipe for Carolina Drama – an unmistakable nod to The Raconteur’s “Carolina Drama” off their 2008 album Consolers of the Lonely.

According to the band, their debut single is “upbeat earworm highlights a catchy chorus hook guaranteeing to “blow your mind” for the price of $19.99.” Keep your earholes open in 2024, Carolina Drama is a new act to keep tabs on.

“for only 10 payments of $19.99
you won’t regret your purchase ma’am
thank you and goodbye”
