Ones To Watch: Ilesoniq Music Festival 2023



As of today, we’re three weeks out from IleSoniq Music Festival’s return to Montreal over the August 12-13th weekend. The acclaimed annual two-day music festival will welcome The Chainsmokers and Martin Garrix as headliners promising an exceptional experience.  We rounded up some of the best artists on the rise at the 2023 festival, you surely don’t want to miss out on these!

#1: Claptone

German producer and DJ Claptone made a name for himself in 2013 after releasing ”No Eyes (feat. JAW)”. Known for his signature style including a golden beaked mask, similar to the Plague Doctor, and white gloves, Claptone combines soulful vocals and hypnotic beats, he has become a prominent figure in the electronic music scene. Claptone has garnered a dedicated global following over the years after the release of four albums since 2015.

#2: Bear Grillz

Bear Grillz is a renowned electronic music artist from Denver, Colorado. With a passion for dubstep and bass music, he has carved a unique niche for himself in the industry. Bear Grillz first burst onto the scene with his distinctive bear mask, which has become synonymous with his brand. His collaborations with other notable artists such as Sullivan King and Mike’s Dead have been well-received, further solidifying his position as a force to be reckoned with in the electronic music scene.

#3: Alesso

Alesso is a Swedish DJ, record producer, and musician renowned for his captivating electronic dance music (EDM) productions. Alesso’s breakthrough came in 2011 with his remix of “Pressure” by Nadia Ali. The remix garnered significant attention in the EDM scene.Known for his melodic and uplifting sound, Alesso has released numerous chart-topping hits, including “Heroes (We Could Be)” featuring Tove Lo, “Calling (Lose My Mind)” with Ingrosso, and “If I Lose Myself” with OneRepublic.

#4: Elderbrook

Elderbrook is a British singer, songwriter, and producer of unique blends of electronic and indie-pop sounds. In 2015, Elderbrook released his breakthrough single “How Many Times”. This track garnered millions of streams and established him as a rising star in the music industry. Since then, Elderbrook has released a string of successful singles and EPs, including the critically acclaimed “Talking” and “Old Friend”, leading to collaborations with renowned artists such as CamelPhat, Diplo, and Rudimental. His collaboration on the hit single “Cola” with CamelPhat, which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording.

#5: Wooli

Wooli is an American DJ, producer, and electronic music artist. Wooli gained recognition for his tracks “Island” and “Another Me,” both of which achieved significant success. “Island” stands out as a collaboration with producers Seven Lions and Trivecta, while “Another Me” is a collaboration with Seven Lions and Canadian producer and DJ Excision. Both tracks appeared on Billboard‘s Dance/Electronic charts in 2019.
