Foley turn up the heat on new single, “On The Rocks”

Date:

Foley are booked and busy. The New Zealand pop duo (Ash Wallace and Gabriel Everett) released the 1st half of their album, Crowd Pleaser, Pt. 1, in February, and performed at SXSW in March. This month, they’re back with a new single, “On The Rocks.”

It’s a near-perfect pop tune, and an excellent addition to Foley’s discography. Wallace and Everett aren’t afraid to experiment with sound, and throughout “On The Rocks,” they slow it down and turn up the heat. It’s dreamy, sexy, and catchy – fans of artists like Ariana Grande, SZA, and Caroline Polachek will thoroughly appreciate what Foley offer here. “On The Rocks” is clever, its lyrics vinelike (though a few lines border on becoming tongue twisters).

Foley hope to create music that “brings souls together,” that “bonds people…through heartbreak, joy, the ups and downs of life.” Wallace and Everett are aligned in their intentions; they want “to make people feel like they are part of something.” They add, “Music is about community and coming together.”
