Alexander 23 shines in Boston on his first headline tour

Date:

It was a packed night in Boston at The Royale as fans were eager to finally see Alexander 23 live for his first-ever headline tour, and his first shows back since the pandemic. It was a jam-packed night and the crowd was eager to see their favorite artist. Originally, the show was supposed to be at The Sinclair — but due to overwhelming demand, it moved to the Royale to allow for more fans to come out.  It was all worth the wait.

The night opened up with the talented Laufey. It was a special show for Laufey as she once called Boston home for 4 years when she went to Berklee College of Music. It was a bittersweet moment for her as she mentioned how the song “Street by Street” was inspired by her time in Boston and a breakup she went through. She ended up getting emotional while explaining the story and singing it. The crowd loved every minute of her short set, showing off an impressive introduction to the artist.

After a great opening to the night by Laufey, it was finally time for Alexander 23 to grace the stage to a screaming crowd chanting for him. He ran out on stage sporting sunglasses and a t-shirt that read “i need a hug”. The Boston crowd sure felt like a warm hug, as they were singing back every word to his set. One of the sweetest moments of the entire set was when he played “Brainstorm” and the crowd held up little paper clouds in the air, illuminated by their phone lights. That moment almost made him cry on stage as he wasn’t expecting that to happen. His set was a great mixture of songs from both his EP’s I’m Sorry I Love You and Oh No, Not Again, as well as a spectacular cover of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” to the crowd’s delight. The atmosphere was electric and everyone was dancing all night. Check out photos from the show below, and get tickets to catch Alexander 23 on tour here.
