Recent News: Will release their debut album The Dream on September 19 via Darkroom Records.

Pop fans were ecstatic when famed producer Finneas and indie songstress Ashe announced they would be forming a supergroup, called The Favors, and releasing the project’s debut album The Dream on September 19. Since making the announcement back in June, fans of both artists have been waiting in anticipation for the album’s full release as three singles — “The Little Mess You Made,” “The Hudson,” and “Times Square Jesus” — were released. Following the release of The Favors’ debut LP, the band will perform three album release shows in Los Angeles, New York, and Austin.

Finneas and Ashe are joined by David Marinelli on drums and Ricky Gourmet on guitar. Through their previously released singles, The Favors invoke an uplifting sense of calmness as they balance painfully heartfelt lyrics with soft, acoustic compositions. Their musical delivery is as real as it is honest, and there’s no doubt that the release of The Dream will shine a golden, glowing light on the pop music world.

When The Favors were first announced, Finneas shared on his Instagram story that the project with longtime friend and collaborator Ashe has been a long time coming.

“Over the past 18 months, Ashe and I have been toiling away on this album and I really mean it when I say I could not be more proud of it — David Marinelli on drums, Ricky Gourmet on guitar – I love being in a band,” Finneas wrote.

Finneas and Ashe first worked together on Ashe’s 2019 debut EP Moral of the Story: Chapter 1. Finneas produced the album, and the two worked together once again on Ashe’s subsequent EP Moral of the Story: Chapter 2. Continuing to build upon their success, Finneas also collaborated with Ashe for the song “Till Forever Falls Apart,” featured on her debut full-length album Ashlyn (2021).

Hints that the two would be working together once again first appeared in February 2025, when an anonymous Instagram account with the handle @weshouldmakeaband began posting videos of what appeared to be Finneas and Ashe working on music together. Both artists continued to post teasers on their respective social media accounts, including a poster for the upcoming Austin City Limits Music Festival that showed an empty artist slot.

Over the next several months, further speculation arose when Ashe appeared onstage to perform alongside Finneas at a few of his live shows and they both performed snippets of one another’s songs at their respective shows. Then, after months of rumors and anticipation, the two finally made the big announcement on June 3. And yes, The Favors will be performing at this year’s Austin City Limits.

Undoubtedly, The Favors has been a project years in the making, and the releasing of their debut record The Dream will not only excite fans, but it will represent a thrilling new musical adventure for both Finneas and Ashe.
