Recent News: Will release their new album IRON on July 25.

Psych pop outfit Post Animal are in the wake of a new and exciting musical era. Through their dreamy psychedelia and vulnerable lyrics, the Chicago-based group have made a definitive name for themselves in the indie rock circuit.

Post Animal were initially founded in 2014 by members Dalton Allison, Jake Hirshland, Wesley Toledo, Matt Williams, and Joe Keery of Stranger Things fame. Keery left the band as a touring member in 2019 to focus on acting and his other musical project, where he is more popularly known as Djo. However, Post Animal announced earlier this year that Keery would be rejoining the band to work on their upcoming fourth studio album IRON, out July 25.

Having released three singles ahead of the record — “Last Goodbye,” “Pie in the Sky” and “What’s A Good Life” — there’s no doubt that IRON continues to explore Post Animal’s signature prog-influenced pop landscape while bringing their artistry to newfound heights.

Following the release of IRON, Post Animal will hit the road to tour as the supporting act for Djo on his Another Bite Tour. Both acts recently finished a run of shows from February to June for Djo’s Back On You World Tour, where they played throughout Australia, North America, the U.K. and Europe. Picking it back up on August 1, Post Animal will once again support Djo on tour as they make their way throughout the U.S. this fall.

With three full-length records and three extended plays under their belt, Post Animal maintain a sound that is both eclectic and inviting. Praised for their energetic live shows and unique sound, there’s no doubt that IRON will continue to launch the group further into indie superstardom.
