Recent News: Will release their new album Loved on September 12 before embarking on a fall North American tour.

With the upcoming release of their third studio album Loved, out September 12 through Because Music, electropop quintet Parcels will continue to expand upon their iconic musicality. Maintaining an infectious sonic blend of 1970s disco and modern day synth-pop, the Australian outfit have managed to build their own unique corner in the indie music space.

Loved directly follows the band’s five previously released EPs as well as two full-length records, which include their debut self-titled LP in 2018 and 2021’s Day/Night. Over the course of their music career, Parcels have established for themselves a solid nu-disco identity, decorating their strong ’70s funk influences with a modern groove. Following the release of Day/Night, the group embarked on a massive world tour. Now, with the upcoming release of Loved, Parcels will once again hit the road as they tour Europe, the U.K., North America and Australia for the remainder of the year.

After forming various musical projects over the years, Parcels was officially founded in 2014. Not long after their formation, the band relocated to Berlin and surrounded themselves with the city’s rich musical history and culture. After releasing their debut EP Clockscared in 2015, it wasn’t until the following year that Parcels brushed shoulders with one of electronic music’s biggest names.

After Daft Punk watched a Parcels show in 2016, the two groups worked together extensively in the studio, creating what would soon become Parcel’s definitive 2017 single “Overnight.” With Daft Punk as producers and co-writers on the track, “Overnight” launched Parcels further into pop stardom.

The single, as well as the band’s debut EP Hideout (2017), earned Parcels great recognition, and soon they were headlining their own European shows. The following year, the group released their self-titled debut LP, whose singles “Tieduprightnow” and “Tape” allowed the album to earn spots on various European album charts. In the years that followed, Parcels only grew in popularity, and they have since released a total of two live albums, five extended plays, and nearly three full-length albums.

Ultimately, Parcels are retro enough to be nostalgic and modern enough to be refreshing. Displaying themselves as somewhat of a modern-day Chic, Parcels’ artistry expands beyond the boundaries of modern indie pop, incorporating disco, funk, classic rock, surf rock and techno all at once. Through their infectious and charming musicality, there’s no doubt that Parcels will continue to rise within the modern indie scene with their new album Loved.
