Sabrina Mae Teitelbaum, under the musical moniker of Blondshell, has established for herself a gritty and enigmatic artistry that now defines her as one of indie rock’s most prominent up-and-comers. With the upcoming release of her sophomore album If You Asked For A Picture, out May 2 through Partisan Records, Blondshell will share her most definitional body of work yet.

Throughout her career, Blondshell has stood out in the indie rock scene for her grunge, folk, ’90s rock, and alt influences. Facing comparisons to the likes of Liz Phair and Fiona Apple, Blondshell is a modern day indie powerhouse, conveying biting relatability and hard-hitting melodies within her artistry. She has toured with acts such as Suki Waterhouse and Horsegirl, earned praise from Rolling Stone and the New York Times and has been labelled as a Gen Z Patti Smith.

Although Teitelbaum is now synonymous with her Blondshell moniker, she originally entered the music scene under the alt-pop project BAUM. Beginning in 2014 and releasing songs on Soundcloud, Teitelbaum released numerous singles and one EP under this project until taking a hiatus following the death of her mother, a breakup and a split with her then-manger in 2018. She released a few more singles in 2019 before foregoing BAUM and reemerging in 2020 as Blondshell.

Having never felt happy with her pop music under BAUM, Blondshell was born in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, Blondshell released her debut single “Olympus,” which was premiered through Nylon and went viral on TikTok. Several more singles, a signing with Partisan Records and respective tours with Waterhouse and Horsegirl followed before Blondshell released her debut album on April 7, 2023. Following the album’s release, Blondshell appeared on numerous “Ones To Watch” lists that year and made her television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Now, Blondshell is gearing up for the release of her sophomore album If You Asked For A Picture. Staying consistent with her signature, raw lyricality, Blondshell’s upcoming record explores themes of love, pain and self-reflection. Taking her distinct melancholy and passion to new heights, Blondshell’s sophomore LP will continue to cement her as modern day indie royalty.

Following the release of the album, Blondshell will embark on an extensive headline world tour this summer and into the fall. Beginning May 2 in Los Angeles, Blondshell will make her way throughout North America, Europe and the U.K. before ending the tour on September 28 at All Things Go Festival in New York City. Numerous acts will tour as support including Jahnah Camille, Meg Elsier, Daffo, Westside Cowboy and Francis of Delirium.
