Since her 2020 musical debut, singer-songwriter Avery Lynch has proven herself to be an impactful and resonating voice in independent music. Bringing together vulnerable lyrical content with a refreshing sense of optimism, there’s a good reason why she has been referred to as a “happy girl filled with sad songs.” Unafraid to tackle both love and heartache, Lynch will continue to make a name for herself in the indie music scene with the release of her new EP Glad We Met, out Friday, September 5 via RECORDS. Following the EP’s release, Lynch will embark on the Glad We Met Mini Tour, playing four shows in Portland, Seattle, San Fransisco and Los Angeles this November.

A heartfelt and effervescent storyteller, Lynch’s newest EP is a love story five years in the making. Glad We Met features numerous previously released singles, including “think about it,” “Dead to Me,” “Sweetheart” and more. Whether its with a soft acoustic guitar or a delicate piano melody, Lynch captures listeners through her intricate explorations of love’s many angles: heartache, heartbreak and everything in between.

Marking the first time that Lynch has ever co-produced a body of her work, Glad We Met is the marking of a new creative era for the singer.

The Glad We Met EP is my favorite project I’ve ever made,” Lynch said in a press release. “Each song follows the beginning of the love story I’ve been living for over five years now. Some songs are about heartbreak and moving on, and others are about falling in love again. It all comes together with the title track ‘I’m Glad We Met,’ which tells the story of meeting my significant other, where we’ve gone and where we are now.”

While Lynch’s upcoming extended play represents a new musical chapter, her artistic story began long before. Growing up in a household that adored music, Lynch began playing the piano at seven years old, and soon began writing original songs of her own. Years later, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and she then began posting her original songs on TikTok. Soon going viral with songs like “I Put Your First (& You Did Too)” and “Holding My Own Hand,” Lynch eventually released her debut EP To Love Someone Else in 2020.

In the years that followed, the singer released a handful of additional EP’s, continuously fueling her songwriting with intense honesty and emotional relatability. Lynch’s artistry is one that approaches listeners with tenderness, softly inviting listeners into her romantic musical world. Within Glad We Met, fans will find an entirely new story to be told by Lynch, finding interwoven tales of relationships and affection across nine tracks.
