Recent News: Their second studio album, There’s A Whole World Out There, arrives May 16.
Set to release their sophomore LP There’s A Whole World Out There this Friday, Canadian emo rock group Arm’s Length are continuing to rise within the modern rock scene. Capturing a sound that is nostalgic yet modern in its hard-hitting energy, Arm’s Length are truly making their mark in 2025.
In February of this year, the band announced their signing on with Pure Noise Records, the label home to notable acts such as Knocked Loose, Drug Church, Less Than Jake and more. It was around this time that Arm’s Length also announced their new album, shared its lead single “Funny Face” and announced dates for their 2025 There’s A Whole World…Tour.
Currently on the road for said tour, Arm’s Length are set to make their way across the U.S. this month before playing a number of select album release shows in June. Earlier this week, Arm’s Length announced that an additional European/U.K. leg of the There’s A Whole World…Tour have been added for February of 2026.
Since the release of their 2022 debut album Never Before Seen, Never Again Found, Arm’s Length have amassed a dedicated fanbase. While the band originally began as a more personal project from the mind of frontman Allen Steinberg, Arm’s Length’s upcoming album reflects on the band’s growth as well as the period surrounding the release of their debut album compared to now.
“I had the songs for the last record since I was basically a teenager, but I had to write all of these ones fresh,” Steinberg explains. “So it speaks more to my life at the moment than the past, even though there’s still a good amount of past on it. But it’s how I’m dealing with it now, as opposed to being enveloped in it — there’s more a sense of being on the other side of it, of seeing it with hindsight. It’s still definitely a sad record, but I feel like the tone has shifted a little. I’m probably just a bit more mature, as my frontal lobe is developing as we speak.”
More self-reflective on this record compared to the last, There’s A Whole World Out There primarily focuses on the three years leading up to the debut album’s release, a time that Steinberg says was one of the darkest in his life.
“It’s all about having some hindsight and being able to look back on the traumas that I talked about on the last record and which were present in my own life,” he says. “I think that they’re still ever present on this album, but there’s a different mood and a shift in how I’m talking about the trauma.”
