ZAYN just released his fifth studio album KONNAKOL, but release week took an unexpected turn. The singer had been scheduled for a number of record store signings and appearances to celebrate the LP, only to find out that he had fallen ill and is focusing on his recovery. Taking to Instagram, ZAYN shared a heartfelt message with fans:
“To my fans – Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always – been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering. Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding. Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologists, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends!”
Even with this setback, ZAYN still figured out how to make release week extra special by surprising fans with a deluxe edition of KONNAKOL. The deluxe edition featured two brand-new tracks, “Bad For You” and “Raise the Dead.”
