Yard Act’s Bopping Show at the Basement East

Date:

It always rains when the British are in town, but that never stops them from putting on a brilliant show. Yard Act played at the Basement East in early November, bringing their irresistible playful sounds and melodies.

Jamie Smith, the lead singer is an amazing vocalist, writes catchy lyrics and is undoubtedly long-winded. Hitting topics that are vital in conceptualizing our society today: capitalism, gentrification, and classism. They make these topics inviting and melodically beautiful. In between songs Smith acknowledged how important it is to be there for the people around us and to share the wonders of the world with others. Yard Act had the crowd bouncing around and singing along until their last song into their ovation.
