William Fitzsimmons seeks connection on new song “Long Distance Runner”

Date:

William Fitzsimmons is known for blending his experiences working in mental health with his career in music in his songwriting. He is willing to open up about personal struggles, allowing his fans to authentically know him. His latest release “Long Distance Runner” focuses on longing for connection.

“Long Distance Runner” is about falling into the same isolating habits. Through soft vocals and steady guitar, William Fitzsimmons expresses his desire to break free from this cycle, yet will always become trapped in it again. Lyrics such as “This heart won’t bend won’t soften / I’m alone in a room full of poets / This heart won’t learn its lessons / I’m alone in a room full of poets / I’m a long distance runner” show how he ends up in the same lonely situations and can’t find a way to break the cycle.
