Seattle-born R&B singer and songwriter UMI is bringing her intimate storytelling to stages around the world with the announcement of her People Stories World Tour, supporting her new album people stories, released August 22 via Epic Records. The project marks her most personal and ambitious work yet, blending R&B, folk, and pop.
“The whole concept [of ‘people stories’] started when I was in Amsterdam three years ago, on tour with my last album,” UMI told Melodic Magazine. “after the tour, these fans [took me out to dinner] and we had this delicious Thai food and they were telling me about their stories. We had mango sticky rice, which turned out to be all of our favorite food. They told me how they had eaten like five plates of it on their first date. And while I’m eating it, it all clicks, and I’m, like, “Oh! I want to write a song about them and call it Mango Sticky Rice, in dedication to this moment that they shared with me.”
The trek, launching October 28 in Salt Lake City, will span major cities across the U.S. and Canada before heading to Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe in early 2026.
Tickets go on sale to the public September 5 at 10 a.m. local time, with a presale beginning September 3 through UMI’s Medallion page. VIP packages (include exclusive perks like guided pre-show meditation, early entry, and autographed laminates) are available in every city.
The People Stories World Tour promises to extend that sense of connection into the live space. Fans can expect immersive performances where UMI’s signature warmth and meditative presence take center stage.
