Following the release of his debut EP Dive Bar Sermon, Timmy Skelly has dropped a bold and energetic new single titled “Nowhere Land.” Initially envisioned as a rowdy tribute to a night out, the song eventually became the sonic foundation for his upcoming project. He shares:
“We want the listener to be teleported into a new universe—one that they can hide in, revel in and share. We felt like this song established the world, and for that reason, it seemed to be the perfect debut single for my second EP, Meet Me in Nowhere Land.”
Skelly describes his unique sound as “Midwest Y’alternative,” a genre-blending style inspired by the environments and music of his youth. “It’s a bit of everything I grew up on,” he said, “including cornfields, lakefronts, my dad’s red ’79 Volkswagen Bug playing Tom Petty and country radio, tall tales by the firepit, Friday night football, whispered prayers, frozen kisses and the smell of Halloween.”
After the success of his first EP and collaborations with artists like James Flannigan and Noah Ehler, Skelly has built a catalog that showcases his songwriting prowess. His work has been recognized by notable platforms such as Boston Calling, and he has toured with acts like Jimmy Eat World, Wilderado, Evan Honer, and Ritchy Mitch & the Coal Miners. He also earned a coveted spot on the Bonnaroo lineup.
Skelly is continuing to record and plans to release more music soon.
