The Beaches release transparent new single “Did I Say Too Much”

Date:

Canadian alt-rock group The Beaches has released another glimpse into their upcoming third album No Hard Feelings through their brand new single “Did I Say Too Much.”

The song serves as a compelling callout to how confusing and unhealthy situationships can be. The lyrics of “Did I Say Too Much” explore the harsh reality of mixed signals, heartbreak, and oversharing in a relationship. It allows The Beaches to channel these feelings of hurt and overthinking into moments of power and defiance as they navigate these tough situations. It’s a strong, driving track sprinkled with angst, hurt, and vulnerability in its just over three-minute duration that makes it a fun and honest listen.

The band expresses that “Did I Say Too Much” is about working through queer heartbreak and how difficult that can truly be. They further shared,

“There are so many layers, the pressure to stay friends with your ex, the complications of open relationships, dating girls who have boyfriends. It touches on what it’s like to come out later in life, and how overwhelming it can all feel. This song, specifically, is about stepping into an open relationship with no expectations, only to fall hard. It’s about the intensity of sharing your deepest feelings, knowing it’s not built to last, and the heartbreak of realizing you might’ve said too much.”

The Beaches’ No Hard Feelings is set to release on August 29th via AWAL and is available for pre-save/pre-order now. The band is set to perform at a large array of global festivals in the coming months, including Governor’s Ball, All Things Go, Osheaga Festival, and more. They’ve also recently announced a massive North American headlining tour that’s scheduled to take place from September to November. Presale for the fall tour will begin on Tuesday, June 3rd, with general sale beginning on Friday, June 6th. More information regarding all of The Beaches’ upcoming shows can be found here
