The 1975 has been awfully quiet this year, only making a public appearance for their performance at Glastonbury. The “Robbers” singers announced an indefinite hiatus after their Still…at their very best tour, which concluded in March 2024. They made it clear that the band was not breaking up but taking a step back from live shows to focus on creating new music and attending to their personal lives. Since then, Matty Healy, the frontman, got engaged to Gabbriette Bechtel, and drummer George Daniel married pop sensation Charli xcx.
The 1975 recently surprised fans—though not entirely in a good way—by removing the song “Human Too” from their album Being Funny in a Foreign Language. Healy took to Reddit to explain that he just didn’t feel the track fit with the rest of the album anymore. “Hey! ‘Human Too’ was removed from the album so the album is more how I want it to be,” Healy commented. On top of all that, Healy recently dropped a sneak peek of a new song on TikTok, leaving fans wondering if a new album might be on the way. The snippet has over 200,000 views, 2,918 comments, 6,124 saves, and 69,000 likes. I think I speak for all of The 1975 fans out there when I say I’m absolutely GEEKED to find out.
