Teddy Swims: Soulful Echoes in the Tennessee Theatre

By David Relano

October 5, 2024

On the night of October 3, the Tennessee Theatre was filled with music as Teddy Swims took the stage for his I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy Tour. The energy in the room was poetic chaos, even before the first note—with a crowd ranging from young fans to those in their 20s, 30s and older.

The Tennessee Theatre, with its vintage architecture and cozy vibe, was the perfect backdrop for a voice as rich as Swims. There’s something about that space that makes performances feel like a shared experience and Swims definitely tapped into that. Playing some favorites throughout the night including “Goodbye’s Been Good to You,” “Devil in a Dress,” “Funeral,” and handful of others, you could feel the collective energy from the crowd.

For an hour and a half, Swims took us on a ride through his soulful discography with “What More Can I Say” as he turned the theatre into an intimate living room, as if Swims was sitting with you, just baring his soul.

Closing out the night with “Tell Me,” “Lose Control,” which has reached #1 on the Billboard Charts, and with “The Door,” his stage presence remained genuine and authentic truly showcasing how Swims has become an almost overnight sensation.
