Taylor Swift sends the Swifties into a frenzy as a snippet of “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” was included in the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale

Date:

Taylor Swift is once again proving she’s the master of the Easter egg, sending Swifties into a frenzy over when Reputation (Taylor’s Version) will be released. The latest clue was dropped this past week in the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale as a snippet of “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” was included in episode 9.

Elisabeth Moss, executive producer and Emmy-winning star of The Handmaids Tale, on using the track in the show:

“I’ve been wanting to use a Taylor song for many years on the show and we finally found the perfect spot for a track from her, and I’m so glad we waited because there could not be a more perfect song for a more perfect moment. Taylor has been such an inspiration to me personally. As a Swiftie myself, and I think I can speak for [co-star] Yvonne and our entire cast as well, who are all Swifties, it’s such an honor to be able to use her music in the final episodes of our show.”

Fans have been speculating that Swift will announce the release of the album at this years AMAs, where she is nominated for Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Pop Artist, Favorite Touring Artist, Album of the Year (The Tortured Poets Department), Favorite Pop Album (The Tortured Poets Department), and Collaboration of the Year (“Fortnight” ft. Post Malone).

Swift has subtly spelled out AMAs on her official website — Apparel, Music, Accessories, Sale. The devil is in the details and Swift never plays a card without a plan. Reputation (Taylor’s Version) and Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Version) are the last two rerecorded albums to be released.
