Taylor Swift is back in theaters: but this time, she’s not just revisiting Eras. She’s throwing a full-blown cinematic release party.
Starting October 3, fans can catch The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, a limited-time theatrical event tied to her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl. The three-day experience (Oct. 3–5) will feature the world premiere of the music video for her new single “The Fate of Ophelia,” exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, lyric videos, and personal commentary from Swift herself.
She announced the event on Friday (9/19) at precisely 12:12 p.m. ET, because of course she did (this is her 12th studio album, after all). In a post on social media, Swift described it as a “dazzling soirée,” inviting fans to show up in their favorite Eras Tour look or iconic orange cardigan. Tickets are fittingly priced at $12. “Dancing is optional but very much encouraged,” she added.
Swift is once again teaming up with AMC Theatres as both exhibitor and distributor, echoing the unconventional rollout of The Eras Tour concert film, which went on to become the highest-grossing concert film of all time with $261.6 million worldwide. AMC is also partnering with Variance Films to make Showgirl available across hundreds of other theaters.
This moment also caps off an especially busy year for Swift. In May, she finally acquired the masters to her first six albums, closing the chapter on a long-running industry feud sparked when Scooter Braun bought then sold the rights to her early catalog. That move followed years of public tension and Taylor’s ambitious re-recording project, and fans have been watching closely for this exact moment.
Swift first hinted at The Life of a Showgirl last month during an appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast. She and Travis confirmed their engagement just weeks later.
