Emo pop-punk powerhouse Taylor Acorn shares her new single “Goodbye, Good Riddance,” her first track since releasing the deluxe edition of her 2024 debut record Survival In Motion (Deluxe) earlier this year. Along with the release, Acorn, who has remained an independent artist throughout her musical career, now announces her new partnership with the renowned Fearless Records.

“I’m just really excited to be so honest,” she says of the signing. “I’ve been an independent artist for the last nine years, so to have a team as great as Fearless in my corner feels really nice. I can’t predict the future, but I do feel like this could be a really cool pivotal moment in my career.”

Initially starting out in the country music scene, Acorn has since gone on to make a name for herself as one of pop punk’s most authentic and exciting rising stars. Growing up in the ’90s and 2000s punk/rock scene, Acorn is proving “it was never a phase.” Realizing it is now time to leave her own mark on a genre that helped define who she is, Acorn is aiming to bring pop punk back for younger generations in hopes they can experience the same inspiration.

“Goodbye, Good Riddance,” combines Acorn’s signature punk rock vocals with hard-hitting guitars. A powerful expression of strength, growth and defiance, “Goodbye, Good Riddance” tells the story of losing someone who had a negative impact on your life, and rising above the loss.

Regarding the new single, Acorn says,

“‘[Goodbye,] Good Riddance’ may be up there as one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. It’s gritty, it’s fun, empowering, and I feel like it’s going to be a really amazing live moment also. I’m really excited for everyone to hear it!”

Opening with punchy percussion, the song’s instrumentation is soon joined by Acorn’s flawless vocal harmonies and unrelenting guitars. Through her nostalgic yet bold sound, Acorn cements herself as one of alt-rock’s most unique and thrilling up-and-comers. The coinciding music video, through its themes of empowerment and determination, further instills the song’s natural adrenaline rush.

Regarding her new favorite single, Acorn tells Melodic Magazine, “The guitars, the lyrics, the tempo. I just love it all. It gives me the same feeling as ‘Ignorance’ by Paramore, and that song has been a favorite for a long time. It’s also just so fun to play live, it’s such a fun song and also so sassy, which I love. Sometimes you just need to be a little sassy, you know?”

“Goodbye, Good Riddance” arrives on the first day of the Summer School 2025, with whom Acorn has a headlining slot. Hitting the road alongside the likes of Arrows In Action, Rain City Drive, and Charlotte Sands, Acorn will bring her high-energy live shows, and new era of music, across North America throughout July and August. This fall, Acorn will make appearances at When We Were Young Festival and the Orlando date of Vans Warped Tour.
