Taylor Acorn announced that her new album Poster Child will arrive on October 24th. This marks the rising pop-punk singer’s first full-length release since signing to Fearless Records last month and the critically acclaimed deluxe edition of her 2024 debut Survival in Motion. Pre-order/pre-save for the new record is available here.
Acorn released her latest single “Hangman,” which emphasizes her depth as an artist with clever, piercing word play and an anthemic guitar-driven production. She compares trying to move on from this emotionally complex situation to losing in the game of hangman as she cries, “Did you run out of letters? / Am I stuck here forever?” The song is another cathartic and relatable effort that highlights her captivating vocals, following the album’s vengeful lead single, “Goodbye, Good Riddance.” Speaking on the new track, Acorn shares,
“The idea of ‘Hangman’ came about during a time when, even though everything in my life was going well, I felt emotionally stuck—like the universe was playing a weird game with me. I’d be having the best day, and then boom—my car battery dies. One time, I literally looked up at the sky and yelled, ‘Oh, come on!’ I think a lot of us feel that way sometimes. Why can’t we move on from a relationship or situation that no longer suits us? I imagined the universe playing hangman as this fun visual—despite how emotional the song feels. It’s a different little spin on being down on your luck and trying to move forward.”
Combining influences from the late-’90s and early 2000s with her own signature flair, Acorn is committed to defining her identity in the modern pop-punk scene by channeling her authenticity, passion and strength in her music. She continues to make emotionally charged, high-energy tracks that resonate with listeners, shaping a new generation of rock with each release. Acorn declared Poster Child as the “best project [she’s] ever had the honor to make thus far” in an Instagram post that broke the news about this thrilling new chapter.
Acorn recently announced that she’ll be embarking on a North American headlining tour this November and December. The singer will also be making some major festival appearances at When We Were Young in Las Vegas, NV and Vans Warped Tour in Orlando, FL.
