Sublime to celebrate 30th anniversary of self-titled album at Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Date:

Sublime will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their self-titled album with special performances at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in April.

The Long Beach trio will play Sublime front to back on Apr. 17, followed by a performance of their greatest hits on Apr. 18. Tickets are on sale now

“Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of the world’s most spiritual places,” drummer Bud Gaugh said.

“You can feel the power generated by the Earth here! I can’t think of a better place to play, for the first time, the Sublime self-titled album from cover to cover, than Red Rocks!”

Just weeks before the release of their self-titled album, singer Bradley Nowell died of an overdose and the band subsequently collapsed. Sublime was still released in the summer of 1996, spawning the massive radio hits “Santeria” and “What I Got.” The band’s major label debut was certified gold by the end of the year with more than nine million copies sold.

In 2023, Bradley’s son Jakob Nowell joined original Sublime members Eric Wilson and Gaugh on stage at a benefit concert for Bad Brains’ H.R. The chemistry between the trio was immediate, paving the way for Sublime to officially debut this lineup at Coachella in 2024.

The band’s recent single “Ensenada” became their first #1 hit since “What I Got” in 1996. Sublime made their morning television debut on NBC’s TODAY Show with a performance of this track in September.
