“Waiting on You!” is the second single to release ahead of Jazzie Young‘s debut album. The sound of the singer-songwriter fits very nicely in the world of modern indie pop. With a lo-fi, airy feel and relatable lyrics, Young creates an intimately nostalgic atmosphere charged with emotion. About the single, Young adds:
“Waiting on You! Is a song about a crush and the anxiety and excitement that can bring up in you. The stomach butterfly feelings you get when you like someone but aren’t sure how they feel about you, so every interaction has a loaded energy to it.”
Daughter of Jesse Colin Young from the band The Youngbloods, musical talent runs in the family and the new single is clearly indicative of this. After releasing a string of EPs and singles, Jazzie Young started writing material for her debut album soon after finishing a West coast run on Jesse Colin Young’s Highway Troubadour tour.
“Waiting on You!” is co-written by Jazzie Young and leading Day Wave member Jackson Philips. Day Wave is also listed as the main producer.
