The Shawn Mendes Foundation has announced an exciting new partnership with the Playing For Change Foundation, a global nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives through music and arts education. The collaboration aims to expand access to music education for underprivileged communities across the globe.
Earlier this year, Mendes performed a series of festivals, including a stop in India, where he worked closely with Playing For Change to help bring music education to communities with limited access. Those efforts have laid the groundwork for a long term global initiative that will continue throughout Mendes’ upcoming tour, Shawn Mendes – On the Road Again.
In an Instagram post, the Shawn Mendes Foundation wrote:
“Music is a universal language that unites us, empowers young voices, and inspires meaningful change across the globe. We’re so proud to continue this partnership and build a brighter future through the power of music education.”
The Shawn Mendes Foundation has made a significant impact supporting and amplifying the voices of young people and change makers around the world. Since its launch, the Foundation has tackled issues like sustainability, human rights, education, social injustices, and mental health to build a brighter, more inclusive future. Because of partnerships with SickKids, Global Changemakers, Global Citizen Year, Flow Alkaline Spring Water, Google, and Chipotle, the foundation has championed meaningful change around the world. They continue to empower the youth by awarding activists Wonder Grants, a grant that is designed to uplift and amplify the voices of our youth.
