Selena Gomez Releases Playful Song “Single Soon”, Perfectly Capturing the Essence of Late Summer

Date:

Selena Gomez is back with her first single of 2023, “Single Soon,” and it’s dance track that exudes a strong sense of independence and readiness to embrace her single status.

In the captivating and lively song, produced by benny blanco and Cashmere Cat, the 31-year-old pop sensation croons, “I’m selecting this gown, slipping into these shoes, anticipating being solo soon, solo soon.”

Earlier in the week, Selena Gomez provided a sneak peek of her upcoming music video, enlisting the help of her 10-year-old sister, Gracie. In an Instagram snippet, Gracie affectionately reassures her older sibling, saying, “Hi. Love you, sis. Don’t even think about boyfriends. Seriously.” Shortly after the founder of Rare Beauty shared with fans that she’s diligently crafting her forthcoming solo album. She said on Instagram, “As I’m still fine-tuning SG3, I thought of releasing this playful song I penned a while ago, perfectly capturing the essence of late summer.”

After the release of Rare in 2020, Gomez continued her musical journey with the Spanish-language album Revelación, which garnered a nomination for Best Latin Pop Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

Although she hasn’t unveiled a solo album since then, the talented actress from “Only Murders in the Building” joined forces with Rema last year for their chart-topping sensation “Calm Down,” recently achieving a remarkable triple-platinum status.

In an interview with Vanity Fair earlier this year, Gomez candidly discussed her upcoming music, revealing her inclination towards “empowering, robust, and distinctly pop” vibes. She further elaborated, saying, “The central theme revolves around freedom — liberation from relationships, liberation from shadows. While I’m naturally drawn to writing ballads indefinitely, my aim is to create music that brings smiles to people’s faces.”

We may not know much about Selena’s upcoming release SG3, but what we do know is that we’re ready for it.
