Following the release of “Dearly Missed,” Searows (Alec Duckart) returns with a soft indie-folk ballad that depicts emotional uncertainty.

The third track from his upcoming album, “Photograph of a Cyclone” pulls listeners into a mellow trance. Coupled with layered harmonies, Searows confronts the unforeseen tension felt regarding someone you care for who turns into a stranger.

Searows compares this affliction to a cyclone, a tropical storm that centers around the South Pacific and Indian Oceans. After his attempts to understand this individual’s point of view without conflict, Searows searches for reassurance in a complicated situation.

Searows also released the music video. Recorded on VHS, the three-minute video showcases Searows and friends (Marlowe Ostara, Runo Plum, and Scout Watkins) dressed up as vampires having an adventure across town. Filled with childlike wonder in contrast to the standalone single, the ending of the music video shows a drawing of Searows and two friends as Count Draculas with a quote reading “FANGS 4 THE MEMORIES.”

Searows’ sophomore album Death in the Business of Whaling is available for pre-save here and will release on all digital streaming platforms on Jan. 23rd.
