Savanna Leigh releases yearning new ballad “nothing yet”

Date:

Nashville-based Savanna Leigh has released a new single titled “nothing yet,” a yearning pop ballad about a romance that never came to be. Its ever-building instrumentation and Leigh’s honest vocal delivery effortlessly move the listener from beginning to end.

Lyrically, she tells the story of a relationship that has failed to take off as the pair struggles to give it a real try. In the chorus, she sings: “’We’ll never be more than friends that kiss / And I don’t wanna talk to figure out things, I don’t wanna lie / ‘Cause you’re using me and I’m using you just to get by / And baby that’s fine.”

While touring her EP, for your entertainment, over the summer, the singer-songwriter played the new song live for the first time, before even naming it. “It’s called… Well, nothing yet,” she said as she introduced the new track. Fans loved the song and that moment so much that she decided to use it as the title.

About the origin and meaning behind “nothing yet,” Leigh says:

“What makes this song stand out for me is its origin. Until now, every song I’ve written has been drawn from lived experiences, heartbreaks, growth, and moments I’ve survived. But this song flips that on its head. It’s the first time I’ve written from a place of imagination… a ‘what if’ scenario about knowingly chasing the wrong person, predicting the inevitable fallout before it ever happens.”
