Role Model brings Rx to New York City

Date:

This past Tuesday night, indie-pop musician Tucker Pillsbury, better known by his stage name Role Model, brought his TOURx to New York City’s Terminal 5. He has been in the beginnings of a world tour for the past month, playing to sold-out crowds across the country and showcasing his energetic performing style while playing songs from his debut album Rx, released in the beginning of April.

THE BLSSM opened up the show, kicking off the night with songs from her many EPs and singles. They got the crowd in the right mood for the headliner, encouraging audience members to dance and sing along to every song. Their musical style is very diverse, ranging from songs inspired by Radiohead to Elliot Smith.

Role Model then entered the stage to a roar of excited fans and strobing lights. He kicked off his set with “if jesus saves, she’s my type” from Rx, an upbeat song that got the crowd in the right mood for the rest of his set. Tucker is an extremely charismatic performer, taking time to interact with the crowd between songs and telling quick stories about each song he performed. A few highlights of his set included “hello!”, “life is funny”, and “forever&more”, a personal favorite off of Rx. Tucker ended his set by thanking the crowd a final time for coming to the concert while expressing gratitude for being able to play in such an iconic venue and promising to be back soon.
