Today, Reece Young begins a new phase with “Nothing At All,” his first release on Oxide Music.
Known for his roots in heavier music, Young shifts into alt-pop here with a sound that feels more direct, while still holding onto the emotional core that’s defined his work so far. Driven by a steady groove and a clear, immediate hook, “Nothing At All” focuses on everyday pressure and frustration, but presents it in a way that feels controlled rather than overwhelming.
The release also marks a turning point behind the scenes. Speaking on the track and his new label home, Young points to a sense of stability and support that’s been missing in earlier stages of his career. That partnership is central to this next step, with Andrew Wetzel and the Oxide Music team backing his direction moving forward.
Musically, the track draws from artists like Twenty One Pilots and VOILÀ, blending introspective writing with a more accessible delivery. It’s a shift that opens the door to a wider sound without losing the personal edge that’s been part of Young’s identity since the start.
That transition will carry onto the stage later this year. Young is set to headline a show in London at YUNGBLUD’s B.R.A.T. Cave on August 29, followed by a supporting slot with Twenty One Pilots at All Points East on August 30.
With “Nothing At All,” Reece Young isn’t fully leaving his past behind—he’s building on it. The result is a track that feels focused, intentional, and representative of where he’s headed next.
