Rain City Drive are kicking off a new chapter with their latest single, “Ride Or Die,” out now via Thriller Records. The first official release since drummer Zack Baker left the band to pursue his studio career full time, the post-hardcore-infused alt-rock band leans into emotion and loyalty on this track. It’s about the kind of relationship built on mutual trust, daily commitment, and showing up for each other through the highs and lows.
“‘Ride Or Die’ is about falling for someone you want to spend your life with. It’s about devotion and loyalty,” explains frontman Matt McAndrew. The song arrives alongside a cinematic new video that captures that emotional weight, an honest look at the kind of love that makes you feel stronger, not smaller.
Instead of portraying love as something that consumes or changes you, “Ride Or Die” celebrates the kind of partnership where both people grow together. The lyrics reflect that steady bond and choosing someone not just once, but over and over again. The track blends lush, atmospheric textures with Rain City Drive’s signature punch, walking the line between vulnerability and power like only they can.
The timing couldn’t be better. Rain City Drive hit the road tomorrow as part of the 2025 Summer School Tour, joining a stacked lineup that includes Charlotte Sands, Taylor Acorn, Beauty School Dropout, Arrows In Action, If Not For Me, and special guest Huddy. The tour is quickly becoming one of the most exciting traveling showcases in alternative music. The tour is also gearing up for a major appearance at the relaunched Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach, CA, on July 26–27.
In just five years, Rain City Drive have built a reputation as one of alt-rock’s most exciting breakout acts. With three albums and over 150 million streams to their name, they’ve toured with scene staples like Dayseeker, Dance Gavin Dance and Set It Off, all while carving out a sound that’s entirely their own. Their most recent album, Things Are Different Now, showcases a band in motion, growing, shifting, and stepping into their full creative stride.
