Orion Sun to release self-titled album ‘Orion’ on Sept. 20, releases single “Mary Jane”

Date:

After making her highly-anticipated return with her single “Already Gone”, Orion Sun has announced that her self-titled album, Orion, will be released on Sept. 20.

About the album Orion, Sun wrote in an Instagram post today:

“I am the accumulation of everybody who has ever loved me and I’m so grateful! It’s been 4 years since my last album. Thank you for still being here. I’m working on the words…this is a very surreal and important moment. To be able to create in times like these I don’t take lightly or for granted. Finally these songs are leaving my body. What a release 💌 To everyone involved in making this album come to life…I love you forever. Self titled baby! They will know the name.”

Orion is marked by Sun’s personal evolution and remains true to her simple bedroom pop in new single “Mary Jane.” Sun spoke about the latest single here:

“This song is about coping and facing fear head on. I lean hard on my vices when it feels like the world it’s falling from the sky. It helps you escape for a while, but no matter where you go, you can’t run from yourself. I had to face my fears eventually, and I’m glad I did.”

You can listen to “Mary Jane” here.
