Olivia O’Brien announces forthcoming EP ‘everywhere i go, there i am’

Date:

Singer-songwriter Olivia O’Brien has released a new single “all the time,” and announced her forthcoming EP, everywhere i go, there i am, coming to streaming platforms on Nov. 15. This track follows “lower,” another deeply personal song from O’Brien that was released during National Suicide Prevention Month (September) to emphasize the importance of mental health awareness and vulnerability.

The timing of “all the time” aligns with World Mental Health Day to emphasize O’Brien dedication to addressing mental health issues through her releases. Her newest single expresses her overwhelming thoughts and emotions through hauntingly honest lyrics.

In her own words, Olivia shares: “I wrote “all the time” originally as a poem about how quickly a seemingly inconsequential bad habit can turn into a harmful addiction.  From drugs and alcohol to eating disorders, I can’t even begin to count the number of times I have watched friends and family members tell me that they, “don’t do it all the time” or “it’s just this once.”  It never is.  We lie to ourselves to justify our vices because they make us feel good for a moment.  People go to great lengths to hide the truth… not just from others, but from themselves.  I worry all the time (no pun intended) that I, myself, will slip into these patterns if I am not careful. This song serves as a reminder.”

With over 3.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify and hits like “Empty,” “hate u love u” and “Josslyn,” which together have surpassed half a billion streams, O’Brien has established herself as a prominent voice of her generation. This past summer, she released love & limerence, her first project on her own label, Girlhood Records, in collaboration with Warner Music Group’s ADA Worldwide. The 5-track EP featured hits like “blip” and “lower,” re-introducing the world to an upcoming vulnerable star i the making.
