Nashville singer-songwriter Julia Adrian reclaims the last word on her latest indie-pop single, “Cold Turkey.”
While it’s been released just in time for the November holiday, “Cold Turkey” is not quite a Thanksgiving anthem, but rather an emotionally charged song exploring the aftermath of a sudden breakup atop haunting synths, dreamy harmonies, and crisp percussion.
Adrian shares,
“[‘Cold Turkey’ is] an emotionally charged pop track that turns the absence of closure into pop catharsis. We crafted the production to mirror the shock of a sharp cut off… no goodbye, explanation, or chance to understand. For anyone going through a ‘turkey dump’ or blindsided by an ending, I hope ‘Cold Turkey’ can help you take back the last word.”
This is the third single from Julia Adrian’s upcoming sophomore EP, what’s the harm?, following the release of her earlier 80s-inspired title track and the heartbreak song “Lag Time,” both of which open the door to the future of Adrian’s sound.
“Cold Turkey” is out now, available on streaming platforms.
