Only The Poets, one of the UK’s most exciting rising bands, has released their new single “Saké” ahead of their debut album And I’d Do It Again, scheduled to be released January 30th, 2026. The four-piece band consists of frontman Tommy Longhurts, bassist Andy “Roo” Burge, guitarist Clem Cherry, and drummer Marcus Yates.
Long-time listeners of Inhaler, The 1975, and The Weeknd can feel the modern alt-pop influences amongst the intoxicating and sensual after-dark groove, blending together the vibes of early 2000s R&B.
“Saké,” written by Tommy with help of songwriters Martin Sjølie and Ed Drewett, and produced by DanDlion, Marcus and Clem from the band, this song sets the tone of the upcoming album — it’s a series of songs processing the emotional turmoil in the aftermath of a breakup. The lyrics of this song feel as though they’re lived in: not just random stories created, but heartfelt experiences shared.
The band’s reputation and advocacy speaks to just how authentic in their craft and relationship with the fans they are. With their landmark special £1 Brixton show, an additional £1 per ticket is being donated to the LIVE Trust, which aids in preserving grassroots venues, providing financial assistance to those working in the music industry, and sparking open conversations around mental health and its effects on the younger generations.
The group has also built their reputation through sold-out headline tours across Europe and the U.S. with artists such as Lewis Capaldi, YUNGBLUD, and The Wombats, whom they’ll be supporting on their tour this autumn.
