Sofia Isella has proven that she is not scared to confront the world and she continues to do so in her newest single, “Out in the Garden,” that calls out those who blindly follow religion without question. The track was released with its accompanying and equally haunting lyric video with hand-drawn black and white sketches that flicker between figures praying and monstrous creatures.

“I got called demonic for the first time,” Isella explained. “I call it losing my demonic virginity. It’s coming for us all, ladies.”

The song mixes an eerie, industrial guitar riff with piano and sounds of nature buzzing in the background. Isella’s powerful voice pairs perfectly with the heavy instrumentals and thought-provoking lyrics that address “Hannah,” a figure Isella praises for her strong faith, while also mocking her: “But how pretty to be praying to nothing / That gorgeous pill of sugar you swallow like it’s something.”
