Portland-based alt-pop duo New Constellations are back with their newest single “Waterslides.” The song comes after their announcement that they will take the main stage at this year’s Lollapalooza festival in Chicago.
The slow-burning track is airy, built on breathy vocals and emotional free-fall. “Waterslides” moves with a soft, stretched pace that captures the feeling of being pulled into something unknown but impossible to resist. Audiences will surely float away in a sense of euphoria while listening to the new song.
“Waterslides” will be on the duo’s upcoming debut EP, It Comes in Waves, out May 15 via Nettwerk. You can listen below.
The duo consists of childhood best friends Harlee Case (vocals) and Josh Smith (multi-instrumentalist and producer), who first began working together when Harlee was 14. In the decade after their first collaborations, Case spent a lot of her time building a large community centered on female empowerment and the legalization of plant medicine. Smith spent his decade playing and touring in bands around the northeast.
