“This song is about college parties and being a total mess. I have never not been a messy person and I kinda just wanted to write a song that’s like, if YOU get to be messy then so do I!!!!!! The first time I saw my ex-boyfriend post breakup was at a house party, and I couldn’t stop crying. I’m realizing I really only ever saw him from afar on campus, or at house parties. We were a part of a music school so the house parties were huge, an everybody-knows-everybody thing. Everybody’s-hooking-up-with-everybody thing.”
