Whether it was a scene in your favorite streaming show, a TikTok you couldn’t stop watching, or that glitchy banger playing at H&M—you’ve heard MUNNYCAT. The genre-hopping, culture-soundtracking duo of K808 and Khaledzou has been stealthily infiltrating the zeitgeist for years. And now, they’re stepping out from behind the sync scene and into full view with the video for “𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐨,” the latest single from their long-awaited, full-length debut, ‘til death we do art’ (out August 8).
“ditto” is more than a music video—it’s a statement. Directed and edited by the duo themselves (of course), the “ditto” video is a chaotic glam-pop fever dream that plays like Clue on poppers. Filmed inside a kaleidoscopic mansion, it’s a treasure trove of robot arms, tiny drum kits, Jeeves, pirates, Easter eggs, and the kind of visual storytelling that begs for a rewatch (or ten). Every frame is drenched in personality, playfulness, and that signature MUNNYCAT bite.
Just like the track it accompanies, “ditto” is loud, fast, and overflowing with artistic intent. The beat hits like a sugar rush. The vocal delivery snaps like a rubber band. And the visuals? Pure eye candy, with a mischievous wink. It’s DIY, but make it couture.
K808: “He won’t say it, but I will. A band connected to The Zou (Khaledzou’s pre-MUNNYCAT band) won a Grammy for Best Rock Song a few years back with a track that sounded suspiciously like one of The Zou’s beloved songs from 2004. Our lawyers told us that going after them would be a losing battle because labels and their legal teams would just drag it out until we ran out of money. So instead of blowing our money on legal fees, we blew it on an over-the-top music video for our diss track. It just sounded like more fun than a lawsuit.”
Khaledzou: “We learned we work well under pressure when we made the video for “follow the leader” in two weeks, so we decided to make it even harder on ourselves with “ditto” and make our most unhinged and epic visuals to date in only 10 DAYS. We’ve been eating, (not) sleeping, and breathing it and are actually in shock now that it’s time to share it with the world! It all happened so fast and we’re thrilled with how the story adds another dimension to the song. We couldn’t possibly be prouder of what we’ve made.”
And if this is your first taste of MUNNYCAT, buckle up: ‘til death we do art isn’t just an album—it’s a 14-track indie-pop explosion. It’s a confetti cannon of sonic left-turns and art-school anthems, lovingly pressed to 3D vinyl (yep, the red and blue vinyl doubles as stereoscopic glasses to view the album’s artwork—welcome to the future). Some songs are new, some are old faves, but all of them are masterfully reimagined in a way only this duo could pull off—thanks in part to vinyl mastering at Abbey Road Studios.
Born from the post-industrial grind of Youngstown, Ohio and now based in Los Angeles, MUNNYCAT’s sound reflects their roots in hustle and their present in hyper-colored freedom. They write, produce, shoot, and edit everything together. It’s not just DIY—it’s ride-or-die. Their bond—both personal and creative—is the heartbeat of the album and the fuel behind their multimedia empire.
Fans of Kero Kero Bonito, Remi Wolf, Tierra Whack, Santigold, or even Ashnikko and Charli XCX, will feel right at home in MUNNYCAT’s world. But this isn’t just for the algorithm crowd—‘til death we do art is full-body music. It’s made for dancing in your room, for blasting in the car, for making you feel something.
So, welcome to the mansion. Watch the “𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐨” video now. Let it rip through your attention span like glitter on fire. Then mark your calendar for August 8—because MUNNYCAT is no longer just a vibe. They’re the main event.
Watch “ditto” now. Album drops 8/8. 3D glasses optional, but highly encouraged.
