Midnight Pool Party’s “FIDELITY” takes a darker turn on the dance floor

Date:

Midnight Pool Party, an Australian disco/dance-pop duo, has released an infectious new single, “FIDELITY.” The track explores relationships and the realistic struggles of temptation, emotional complexity, and infidelity, all in the duo’s signature style.

The single marks a shift in Midnight Pool Party’s lyrical journey, addressing heavier subject matter while still maintaining their signature sound and the irresistible allure of dance. The song tackles the difficult and sensitive topic of infidelity. Darren, a member of Midnight Pool Party, shares more about the song:

“This song is about infidelity and temptation. Specifically, about going through the emotions of being tempted by someone else while you’re already in a relationship and feeling like you’re too deep into a situation where, no matter what you do or who you choose, you’ll lose and everybody gets hurt.”

While the duo says they don’t condone infidelity, they wanted to challenge themselves to write from a new perspective with this song—a testament to their willingness to grow and evolve both musically and personally. And while they don’t condone it, they acknowledge that most people either have experience with it themselves or know someone that it’s happened to, so this song is sure to relate to many listeners.
