Melodic Music Monday: November 10

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

——

Katy Perry, “bandaids” – Lyrically, “bandaids” shares a bittersweet message about heartbreak, seemingly addressing Perry’s split from Orlando Bloom earlier this year. She opens the track singing, “Hand to God I promised I tried / There’s no stone left unturned / It’s not what you did / It’s what you didn’t / You were there but you weren’t.” In the second verse, Perry looks at the relationship more fondly: “On the bright side / We had good times / Never faked our pictures / We were perfect / Til we weren’t.”

– Germano Blanco

——

Reneé Rapp, “Lucky” – “Lucky” will be the featured song for the end credits on Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, which releases on Nov. 14, 2025. Rapp’s collaboration with the franchise marks the ushering in of a more modern sound to a new generation of heist films.

– Alexa Rosenberger

——

Hilary Duff, “Mature”Hilary Duff makes a case for best musical comeback of the decade with “Mature.” Duff partnered with her husband and GRAMMY-winning songwriter/producer Mathew Koma, along with Madison Love, to create her first song in over ten years. As someone who grew up knowing Duff as the OG pop princess, the single feels like the perfect blend of nostalgia and evolution. It pays tribute to her early 2000s roots while embracing a more refined, grown-up sound that fits who she is in her thirties. Hats off to Duff — she got it right.

– Reagan Denning

——

Isabel LaRosa, “Her Face” – On her new single, “Her Face,” Isabel looks back on a former love. Throughout the moody ballad, she reflects on the person she is with, knowing that they would rather be with someone else. Her vocals are hushed yet angelic as she sings lines like, “It’s 3 a.m. now / You kiss me on the couch / And she’s not around / But she’s still on your mouth.” It is evident that this breaks her heart, and it is even more so when she sings, “You would’ve stayed / If I had her face.”
