Melodic Music Monday: June 16

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

——

Twenty One Pilots, “The Contract”Twenty One Pilots will be touring their upcoming, Breach, across North America this fall. The announcement came this morning, accompanied by the release of the album’s first single, “The Contract.” The duo has certainly been keeping busy, with their previous cliffhanger LP, Clancy, released only a year ago. The sound is true to Twenty One Pilots’ alternative rock and electro-pop roots, while also reminiscent of early Linkin Park.

——

Tinashe and Disco Lines, “No Broke Boys”Tinashe teams up with producer Disco Lines for a new version of her single “No Broke Boys,” turning the confident R&B track into a high-energy dance record. Originally featured on her 2024 album Quantum Baby, the remix leans into a techno-inspired sound without losing the edge and style of the original.

– Vivian Richey

——

Lenox Hills, “Are We Good To Go?” – “Are We Good To Go?” is about finding your time to shine. Through leading guitar and punchy percussion, Lenox Hills tries to keep up with the changing environment around them to reach stardom. Their lyrics ask when the perfect moment for them will arise.

– Emma Celenza

——

Rita Ora, “Heat” – Featuring a ridiculously catchy chorus, a classic dance beat, and punchy, distorted piano chords, “Heat” has such an original electro-pop vibe that just makes you want to dance. Ora’s vocals oscillate between the powerful, anthemic chorus, sultry spoken verse, and feathery pre-choruses, compounding the sexiness and fun of “Heat.” It’s easy to imagine enjoying this song at a beach party, in the club, or a lip-sync battle on Ru Paul’s Drag Race.
