Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:
——
Daniel Seavey, “Eden” – After releasing his debut album Second Wind, Daniel Seavey went on to release his next single “Eden.” Daniel originally posted a small clip of the chorus on TikTok, but fans got their first official listen to the song when it was originally a vinyl exclusive. Anyone who purchased the vinyl of Second Wind had access to the full studio version of the track. “Eden” went on to become a fan favorite, leading up to the song now being officially released.

——
moonpool, “Like You Do” – “Like You Do” blends brooding shoegaze, grunge, and post-punk influences to create a heavy, emotionally charged track. The Denver-based band channels the urgency of change through the song’s visceral and relentless energy. The fuzzy guitar riffs, raw vocal delivery and overall distorted production give the song a melancholic allure that feeds into its volatile nature. The echoing breakdown that hits the song around the two-minute mark is one of its most memorable and enticing moments.

——
Jessie Murph, “Heroin” – Jessie Murph is ready to make her mark this July, as she shares the tracklist for her upcoming sophomore album, Sex Hysteria, on July 18. On “Heroin,” Murph mixes beautiful piano and string arrangements, while she sings about a toxic and addictive love that she can’t stay away from.
– Clare Gehlich
——
mgk, “cliché (sad version)” – Last month, mgk officially kicked off the Lost Americana era with the lead single, “cliché.” This week, he surprised fans with the release of “cliché (sad version),” a stripped down take that reimagines the original. The focus shifts entirely to his voice, which feels both fragile and fierce. It is haunting in the best way—a reminder that while mgk can command a stadium, he can also whisper straight into your soul.
