Levi Evans keeps it real with “One Day at a Time”

Date:

Indie pop singer/songwriter Levi Evans uses songwriting as an outlet for his inner thoughts. He describes making music as an addiction, which bears its highs and lows. He’s currently in the process of introducing his latest EP, Head Chatter, a look inside Levi’s brain at all of the feelings that can be hard to say out loud. His latest project talks about doubt, insecurity, but also hope. “One Day at a Time” is the newest single off of Head Chatter.

“One Day at a Time” is raw and refuses to sugarcoat the fact that finding happiness within yourself can be difficult to do. The song opens with a high-pitched synth melody, adding some irony to the darker themes in the lyrics. Evans touches on addiction in the verses, and again in the chorus, singing “Do you wanna get high, or away from here?” Likely to emphasize that sometimes the easiest ways of coping are not always the best decisions to make. Yet, the title & chorus tag “One Day at a Time” adds a touch of optimism for the listener, brightening up the song as a whole.
