Tennessee rock duo Lenox Hills delivers a clever new single you would never expect: a breakup song on Friday the 13th, the day before Valentine’s Day.
Founded by two brothers, Luke and Packy, in 2017, the band steadily continues to expand their fanbase and capture the attention of a multitudes. It’s a well-deserved feat for the duo, with hit singles like “Novocaine,” “Fever Dream,” “Just Like In December,” and “Are We Good To Go?”
This newest single, “Treading Water,” marks a huge achievement and a new era for the duo as this is not only their first big collaboration with another artist, Chelsea Blankinship, but it’s also the fourth single from their upcoming album, A Penny For Your Thoughts.
Lyrically, the song taps into feelings of never being able to give enough in a relationship, with the other person always wanting more and yet never truly being satiated. Lyrics like “”But I’ll be fine / I must say I can’t ever tell / What you want from me / My glass half-full always tends to spill / Won’t you set me free, just let me be” exemplify this message.
With a beautifully melancholic melody holding similar vibes to songs by artists such as Arctic Monkeys and Lord Huron, this song is one you should most definitely add to your playlist!
