In a statement yesterday afternoon, it was announced by The Osbourne family that beloved rockstar Ozzy Osbourne has passed away peacefully with loved ones at age 76. The statement reads below as follows:
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.
Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”

Known for his alluring vocals as the frontman of Black Sabbath, unique sense of humor, sharp wit in interviews, and showcasing infectious energy in hit reality MTV show “The Osbournes”, Ozzy Osbourne leaves behind a legacy that his fans and the music industry will never forget.
Just two weeks prior, Ozzy joined his former band members at Villa Park located in Birmingham, England for their last performance as Black Sabbath titled “Back to the Beginning” — also marking Ozzy’s final live performance on July 5th. Joining the lineup, other renowned heavy metal bands such as Slayer, Metallica, and Pantera alongside other acclaimed supporting acts (Alice in Chains, Gojira, Halestorm, Anthrax, Lamb of God, and Mastodon) were in attendance to commemorate their final journey.
Black Sabbath was formed in Birmingham, UK in 1968 consisting of band members Ozzy Osbourne (vocalist), Tony Iommi (guitarist), Geezer Butler (bassist), and Bill Ward (drummer). Black Sabbath immediately took the charts by storm with their first debut and self titled album ‘Black Sabbath’ in 1970. With notable and popular songs such as “Paranoid”, which reached #61 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became their highest-grossing song to date. Peaking in both physical and digital sales, “Paranoid” also held the title of becoming their first song to chart in the United States to date – which led to the success of naming their sophomore album after their biggest hit. Without delay, the band kicked off in breaking musical barriers in creating a total of 18 studio albums after their debut, headlined 31 tours, sold over 70 million records worldwide, and received a total of three Grammy awards (best metal performance in 2000 for “Iron Man”, best metal performance in 2014 for “God Is Dead?”, and received a lifetime achievement award in 2019). In light of these major accomplishments, Osbourne continued to reach the heart of millions of fans as he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Jack Black last October.
Ozzy is survived by his wife Sharon Osbourne, children Kelly Osbourne, Jack Osbourne, Aimee Osbourne, Louis Osbourne, Jessica Starshine Osbourne, and Elliot Kingsley, alongside his grandchildren.
