Singer-songwriter Kiki Halliday has released a new alt-country single titled “Personal Hero” — a fitting track for moments of chaos, loss, or heartbreak.
Written by Halliday, the song tells the story of trying to save someone, only to realize that you can’t. It explores the painful truth that, sometimes, even when you try to be the hero, the person with the darkest heart and worst intentions prevails. The track is inspired by the end of a five-year relationship that fell apart for all the right reasons.
With such heavy emotion comes a sonically rich sound — a string-heavy melody that beats like a heart, paired with powerful, emotional vocals.
Halliday, a Los Angeles native now based in Nashville, creates multi-genre music as a songwriter. She has earned more than 2 million streams, with her songs featured on Spotify editorial playlists such as Sad Hour, Laid-Back Acoustics and Viral Top 50.
With over 10 years of experience writing and performing for film and television, Halliday has landed more than 400 sync placements. In the past year, her songs have been featured on The Kardashians, Love Island, Love Is Blind, Queer Eye, Wimbledon 2024, NFL 2024 and Monster High.
She continues to expand her catalog by writing for pop, dance and country artists including Jonathan Clark, Tolan Shaw, Emily Lee and more. As 2025 continues, Halliday plans to focus on crafting organic, personal sounds for her own discography while collaborating with other artists.
